Drift Trike

The drift trike is a project I completed this summer. Although it is more fun then technically challenging, I thought it would be useful to include to showcase some of my skills.

Here is the final product. The vehicle consists of a steel chassis using steel square tubing. For the steering, I used the front tire of a mountain bike but had to fabricate the mounting to the frame from more tubing. The axle, wheels, seat, and sprocket are typical go kart parts, while the plastic casing on the wheels (to decrease friction and increase drifting ability) come from a PVC pipe. The engine is 212 cc and 6.5 hp from Harbor Freight.

Here is a video of me MIG welding the steel frame.

Here is a video of me riding the vehicle.
